"Outstanding" is the term used to describe residents who embody the great spirit of altruism, whose combination of clinical promise, ability to think outside the box, skills in health care and commitment to the osteopathic profession separate them from the majority. They are looked upon to become future leaders and advocates for their patients; some even become national and world leaders in health care or research.
