(CHICAGO)— David S. Pucci, D.O., an osteopathic physician of Charleston, S.C., was recently elected as the intern/resident representative to the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Board of Trustees during its House of Delegates meeting in Chicago.

“I’m excited about serving my profession by working alongside the great leadership on the AOA Board of Trustees,” said Dr. Pucci. “The key to our success is compassionate patient care, excellence in education and emphasis on quality research.”

Dr. Pucci completed his residency training in internal medicine at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and is currently in a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. A 2004 graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) in Lewisburg, he was named Student D.O. of the Year in 2004 by WVSOM.

A member of the AOA since 1999, Dr. Pucci is chair for the AOA Council of Interns and Residents. In addition, he is associated with several other professional organizations, including the South Carolina Medical Association.

An active volunteer, Dr. Pucci has gone on three mission trips to Guatemala. His WVSOM volunteer activities include staffing a sports medicine free health fair.

Dr. Pucci resides in Charleston with his wife, Adrienne Coopey, D.O.
